  1. Introduction

Theresa Bruno (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we retain it, and your legal rights. By using our website and services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

  1. Data controller

The data controller for this website is: Theresa Bruno — contact via Connect@TheresaBruno.net or SoulTalks.podcast24@gmail.com, or at the postal address above.

  1. What personal data we collect

We may collect and process the following personal data:

  • Contact details you provide: name, email address, phone number, and any other information you enter into contact forms or subscription forms on the site (e.g., when subscribing to mailing lists or contacting us).
  • Communications with us: content of messages you send (email, contact forms), and replies.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device identifiers, pages visited, referring/exit pages, and other usage analytics data collected automatically by the site and third-party services.
  • Marketing and engagement data: whether you open or click our emails, and other engagement signals linked to your contact record when you subscribe.
  • Cookies and tracking data: cookies and similar tracking technologies used on the site, described in the Cookies section below.

We collect data when you enter it (forms, email), and automatically via cookies and tracking scripts when you visit pages where they are active (including embedded ActiveCampaign tracking). See ActiveCampaign site-tracking documentation for details on what their script collects (they use first-party cookies and may associate page visits and IP addresses with contact records).

  1. How we collect data
  • Forms & subscriptions: When you fill out an embedded form on our site (ActiveCampaign forms integrated into our website), the information is captured by our ActiveCampaign account and stored there.
  • Cookies & site tracking: We (and third parties we use) place cookies or other local storage on your device to enable site functionality, analytics, and marketing features. ActiveCampaign’s site-tracking uses first-party cookies to track page visits and associate them with contact records.
  • Third-party services: We may use third-party analytics and email service providers that collect data as described below.
  1. Purposes for processing & legal bases (GDPR/UK-GDPR)

When required by applicable law (for EU/UK users), we rely on these lawful bases to process personal data:

  • Consent: where you have given consent (for example, to receive marketing emails or to accept non-essential cookies).
  • Performance of a contract: to deliver services you request (e.g., responding to inquiries, fulfilling the purpose of your request).
  • Legitimate interests: for our business operations such as site administration, fraud prevention, analytics, and improving services, provided that these interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

For email marketing we will only send you marketing if you opted in (or otherwise where the law permits and you have not opted out). See CAN-SPAM and FTC guidance for U.S. email rules and unsubscribe requirements.

  1. Email marketing — rules & your choices
  • We use ActiveCampaign for email marketing and to store subscriber records. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the “unsubscribe” link included in each marketing email or by contacting us at Connect@TheresaBruno.net or SoulTalks.podcast24@gmail.com. CAN-SPAM requires that emails include an easy opt-out and a valid physical postal address; this policy and our emails include the postal address above.
  • If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (see Rights section below) including the right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. If you believe our practices involve “sale” or “sharing” under CCPA/CPRA, you can exercise the opt-out via a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link we provide (or by contacting us). California law requires a clear and conspicuous link where applicable.
  1. Cookies and similar technologies

We and third-party services (including ActiveCampaign, WordPress plugins, and any analytics providers we use) use cookies and similar technologies. Cookies may be essential (required for site function) or non-essential (analytics, advertising, tracking). ActiveCampaign’s site tracking uses first-party cookies and collects page visits and IP addresses associated with contact records when configured.

  1. Sharing and third parties

We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers that provide services on our behalf (email platform ActiveCampaign, hosting providers, analytics, payment processors). Those providers process data under contract and only as instructed.
  • Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, respond to legal process, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a sale, merger, or asset transfer (with notice to affected users as required by law).

Where transfers outside the EU/UK occur (e.g., ActiveCampaign operates in the U.S.), we ensure appropriate safeguards for international data transfers are in place (standard contractual clauses, vendor contracts) where required by law. See ActiveCampaign’s privacy documentation for details on their processing and transfers.

  1. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with recordkeeping obligations (for instance some email records may be kept for business/recordkeeping purposes). Specific retention periods depend on the data type and purpose; contact us if you want details for your data.

  1. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs and notice is required by law, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required.

  1. Your rights (EU/UK and California residents)

If you are located in the EU/UK: under GDPR/UK-GDPR you have rights including access, rectification, deletion (“right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and the right to withdraw consent. You can exercise those rights by contacting us at Connect@TheresaBruno.net or SoulTalks.podcast24@gmail.com.

If you are a California resident: under CCPA/CPRA you have rights to request disclosure of categories of personal information collected/sold/shared, request deletion, and opt out of sale/sharing of personal information. You also have the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. For California requests, contact us via the email addresses above or use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” opt-out mechanism if we operate such a link.

When you submit a request, we may ask for information to verify your identity before fulfilling the request to protect privacy and security.

  1. Minors

Our site is not intended for children under 16 (or 13 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child provided us personal data, contact us to request deletion.

  1. Third-party links and services

Our site may contain links to third-party websites. This policy does not apply to third-party websites; please review their privacy policies before providing personal data. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

  1. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, our services, or vendor practices. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date.
